Baked tortellini – the recipe from Cooks but good

Why choose between lasagna and tortellini, when you can have both in one dish? Baked tortellini are an easy, quick and tasty dish. The preparation is very simple but the result will be extremely delicious. Perfect for the holidays, for Sunday lunch with the family or a nice dinner with friends. A rich but above all last minute dish and ideal for those looking for new ideas to bring to the table, all you need is some tomato sauce or ragù ready. Don't worry about overdoing it, it will be even tastier the next day.

RECIPE

  • 500 g tortellini dried or fresh
  • 250 g fiordilatte mozzarella
  • Grated Parmesan to taste
  • sale q.b.

For the ragù

  • 500 ml tomato puree
  • 300 g minced veal
  • 1 onion
  • 1 carrot
  • 1 celery
  • 1/2 glass Red wine to blend
  • grated nutmeg to taste
  • fresh basil to taste
  • extra virgin olive oil to taste
  • sale q.b.
  • First prepare the ragù: wash the onion, carrot, celery and chop them finely. Place them in a pan and fry them gently together with the extra virgin olive oil. When the mince begins to brown, add the minced meat, flavor with nutmeg and brown for about 10 minutes.

  • Pour in the wine and let it evaporate. At this point, pour in the tomato puree and leave to cook over a low heat for about 40 minutes. Season with salt and mix often. Once finished, turn off the heat and add 2-3 basil leaves.

  • In the meantime, cut the mozzarella into cubes and set aside.

  • When the sauce is ready, prepare the baking dish that you will put in the oven: add 3 tablespoons of sauce and cover the entire surface.

  • Place a pan with plenty of salted water on the heat. Once it comes to the boil, dip the tortellini and cook until half cooked.

  • Drain them, transfer them to a large bowl and immediately season them with plenty of sauce. Add half the mozzarella, 2 tablespoons of grated Grana and mix well.

  • Transfer the tortellini to the baking dish, add a final layer of sauce, the remaining mozzarella and finally sprinkle with the grated cheese.

  • Bake in static mode on the intermediate level at 200°C for approximately 10-15 minutes until a tasty crust has formed on the surface.

  • Once ready, let them cool slightly and serve.
