Hot chocolate on a stick – the recipe from Cooks but good

Hot chocolate on a stick is a special treat to sip together with a cup of milk. It can be enjoyed at any time of the day, not only in the winter months, but at any time you wish. Hot chocolate is almost a must in winter, easy and delicious to prepare in fun single portions and does not require any special tools.
This recipe is a valid alternative to enjoy a delicious snack, to be made in just a few minutes and dissolved in hot milk. To make a thicker chocolate, thickeners such as corn starch or carob flour can be added.
Hot chocolate on a stick can be flavored with pistachios, almonds, hazelnuts, sultanas and all the ingredients you prefer. It may put you in crisis just by choosing the type of chocolate you are going to use. We preferred one of the many dark chocolates flavored with cinnamon and vanilla. And which one do you prefer?

  • 200 g dark chocolate

For the topping

  • chopped hazelnuts to taste
  • chopped pistachios to taste
  • flaked almonds to taste
  • coconut flour to taste
  • uva sultana qb
  • dehydrated fruit to taste pineapple, plums, apricots, mango

It will also serve you

  • 1 drizzle of seed or coconut oil to brush
  • Grease the ice molds with coconut oil, using a brush or your finger.

  • Chop the chocolate coarsely and melt it gently in a bain-marie.

  • Using a piping bag or a teaspoon, fill the ice cube molds with chocolate.

  • Decorate as desired with the different toppings and leave to solidify just enough to keep the wooden stick straight.

  • Leave the chocolate cubes to cool in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours, so that they solidify perfectly.

  • To remove the sticks: tap the mold vigorously on a solid surface, the chocolate will come away from the walls effortlessly. With small lateral movements, unmold them by pulling the stick upwards.

  • To enjoy excellent chocolate, simply dip 1 or more sticks in hot milk and mix until you obtain a smooth drink.

If you don't like the strong taste of dark chocolate you can sweeten your chocolate with honey.
These sticks will keep for up to 2 weeks in the refrigerator.
